Tweri in the European Summit on Innovation for Active and Healthy Ageing
We travel to Brussels to attend this meeting in which the importance of new technologies in improving the quality of life was analyzed.
After presenting Tweri in the United States, last 9th march we travelled to Brussels to attend the European Summit Research Active and Healthy Ageing.
There, we had the opportunity to meet first hand the main actors of the healthcare market and to discover the path that the European Union intends to continue to deal the demographic changes taking place in society.
Innovation and new technologies are two essential factors for dealing this change process in which society is rapidly ageing. For this reason, we need tools to continue improving the quality of life of citizens.
During the two days of the meeting, we observed two different lines of research. On the one hand, those who seek to prevent possible diseases, and secondly those who aim to extend the autonomy of the elderly or disabled people. In this way, the implementation of initiatives such as the design of assistive robots or mobile application development as Tweri prove that innovation and ICT have much to offer.
Although the healthcare market is still not fully defined, in Spain we are increasingly aware of the important role of new technologies in this field. Proof of this is the large number of spaniards with which we agree in Brussels. The European Summit Research Active and Healthy Ageing met at an approximate number of 1,400 people who share interests in a market that is still in the early stages of growth.
